Start Pwning Life TODAY!

This is the first post on the Pwning Life blog and it’s going to serve two purposes. You can use this post as a guide for your first Pwning Life blog post. Second, I’m going to share my vision of an ideal life AFTER you guys decide which exercise you want me to do.

How To Come Up With Your Vision

I’ve been reading personal development/self help type books for a long time. A common theme that many of them share is the importance of figuring out what you really want in life. This seems like it should be a simple exercise, but trust me it’s not. I’m going to share with you some of the methods I’ve enjoyed using in the past. Choose one, mix them up or share a technique you have used in the past in the comments.

You Just Won The Lottery
I’m sure everyone’s heard this one before. What would you do if you won the lottery? The jackpot was $250 million and YOU were the only ticket holder. What would you do? Don’t just think about it (“I’d buy a house. A Lamborghini. A yacht. etc.”) WRITE IT DOWN! Write as much as you can and be as detailed as you can. The things you would buy. The places you would go. The people you would see. The things you would do. GO BANANAS! It’s fun! :D

Your Perfect Day
With this method you’re suppose to go into as much detail as you can about what you’re perfect day would be like. What time would you wake up? Would you exercise before breakfast? What would you have for breakfast? What is work like? Do you work? Who do you spend your time with? I think you get the idea. ;)

A Conversation With God
You don’t have to believe in God for this one. You just have to be able to use your imagination. Imagine God, with his big puffy beard and white robe, strolls through the door of your house and asks you to take a seat. Then he goes on to tell you that no matter what you do, you’ll be successful. At first you’re like “Yeah but…” then God’s like “Dude! I’m God! I got you!” ;) So then you go on to tell him what you would do, where you would go, how you would live, etc.

Make An “I Want” List
I’m borrowing this one straight from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles”. Jack recommends making a list of 30 things you want to do, 30 things you want to have and 30 things you want to be before you die. He also recommends having a friend continually ask you “What do you want?” for 10 to 15 minutes straight. I didn’t try that. :) I also didn’t break things into 3 separate categories. Instead I tried making a list of 100 things I wanted to have, be and do (I think that was harder :P ).

[I went ahead and did this exercise on my personal blog.]

Which Exercise Would You Like Me To Do?

I don’t want to be the kind of guy that’s asking you to do something that I wouldn’t do myself. Which of the four exercises listed above would you like me to share in the next post? Vote in the poll below. Whichever exercise you choose, I’ll also go deeper and share with you some of my larger goals and vision that I’ve been thinking about for a long time.

Let Me Know When You Finish Your List/Vision

When your done with that first blog post LET ME KNOW! Leave a comment below and put the link to your blog in the website field.

Feedback Feedback Feedback

Last but not least, I need some feedback. Since this is the first post, I have NO idea what direction you want me to go with this blog. Right now I’m committed to doing one blog post and video per week (released on Sunday or Monday). I want it to be as interactive as possible as well. There’s no way you’re going to start pwning life by passively reading about me and my adventures. You’re going to need to do something too! (Which is why I recommend blogging.)

Let me know how many posts a week you think is a good idea. What areas you want me to focus on first (health, career, finance, relationships, spirituality, etc.) If you like the idea of book reviews (I read a lot and plan on sharing books here that I think will help you with pwning). Anyhow. FEEDBACK! :)

I really like the idea of this, and I hope it takes off and gets popular. I personally like the idea of exploring spirituality and hearing some book reviews from you. You seem like a pretty healthy guy as it is, so I guess exercise would be something you don’t have to focus as much on.

As for posts, I’d say once or twice a week should be plenty. That would insure you had plenty to talk about through the week. Or you could do 1 video a week and maybe a short daily update post. Just whatever works for you.

    Hope my feedback helped.

If you can do a blog post regularly, even if one per week, that would be cool with me. You have so many interesting things going on , I’d hate for you to neglect something. So I suggest since you’ve got about 4 or 5 media campaigns going on that you perhaps do one or two things on different ones and give us the schedule on your videos.

Well, I’ve got my first post up on my fresh new blog :D .

I didn’t really follow a format, just kind of typed up what was inspiring me about goal setting/pwning. I think it’s a good start and I’m looking forward to making more posts.

Your blog(s) are coming along really great. I think as long as there is some kind of weekly blog update + weekly video from you, you’ll be able to achieve a good balance of making progress while also not stressing over keeping us all in the loop with big updates.

We could use twitter for the smaller and more frequent instances of success, then use the blogs for a more in depth recap of the pwnage.

With all you have going on, posting once a week should be sufficient:)
