Blogging To Pwn

One of the most important things to do when it comes to pwning life (maybe THE most important thing) is to set goals and track your progress. One of the best ways to do this is blogging. Blogging is nice for a few reasons:

  • It makes your goals public (thus making you more responsible for them and attracting people who can help you achieve them)
  • It automatically makes an easily search-able and archived journal
  • It’s always available as long as you have access to the internet
  • It connects you to new and interesting people
  • You will learn new useful skills
  • It’s free! :D

How Do I Start Blogging?

If you already have a blog you can skip this section. If you’ve never setup a blog, HAVE NO FEAR! It’s a simple process. The first step is deciding where you want to start your blog. I recommend two places. If you have a Google Account you have everything you need to get started at Blogger.com. Another popular platform is WordPress.com. Just flip a coin and get started! Once you get started, you’ll have an idea of what features you’d like your blogging platform to have and you can (relatively painlessly) move it in the future. If you’d like a more in-depth article on choosing a blog platform, check this out: “Choosing a Blog Platform” (from ProBlogger.net).

What Should I Blog About?

Your posts about pwning life are going to serve a few purposes.

  • Goal setting
  • Tracking your progress
  • Sharing successes and failures learning experiences ;)
  • Connecting with other people who share the same goals and passions as you

You could start your vision of a dream life or a list of things you want. Here’s an article with some ideas for outlining your dream life. You could also start with writing your own definition of what “Pwning Life” means to you.

Getting Connected

As we move forward with PwningLife.com I’m going to encourage you (the reader) to check out the blogs (YouTube accounts, Twitter feeds, etc.) of other readers. This way you will find people that share similar a similar vision and goals as you.

I’m also going to create a page of readers who are “Pwning Life.” As time goes on, there will be a way to get you blog posted to that list with a little description. And if have not already [follow the updates from this blog].

      Hey Peter,

Thanks man. :) Yeah, TOTALLY do the blogging thing. You don’t have to be all “emo” about it ;) . Just to get your thoughts in order. And it’s not that you have to totally stop playing video games or anything. Just apply the video gaming skills to life. I have a feeling this is going to be pretty epic as well. :)

        Hi Casey

I guess I overreacted a bit cuz i was feeling down and all but hey looks like i got things sorted in no time.

I sorta started thinking about what would help bring more of a balance to my life. I’m gonna start reading books again and I just got a skateboard, that will definitely help me go out more. I feel much better about myself now and i dont really think i need a blog yet. Sorry
Thanks for all that you do
        Peace !!!
